Accenture Corporate Boardroom
Accenture, Minneapolis, MN
Challenge:
Accenture is the world's leading provider of management and technology consulting and solutions. One significant technology consulting service provided by Accenture is Customer Relationship Management (CRM). To improve the collaboration with its clients, the Minneapolis, MN office of Accenture required an impressive showcase room with the latest in communication technology for CRM presentations. Accenture demanded technology that improved the productivity of meetings between the firm and its clients when planning and implementing CRM solutions. Primary design challenges included:multiple screens to display multiple sources; outstanding videoconferencing and audioconferencing to maximize the productivity and minimize the cost of meetings between Accenture and clients in different cities; and a need for the interior design of the room to reinforce Accenture's image as the world's leading consulting company.
Solution:
The unique design of the showcase conference room includes five visual images. The focal point for the front wall is an 87" rear-projection screen. It is flanked on the left and right by 37" display monitors. Two additional 42" plasma monitors were installed, one near the front of the room and one in the back of the room. The five screens can present an image from any of the following sources: videoconferencing, dedicated computer, Internet, DVD, VHS, satellite, and up to three laptop computers. Adding to the flexibility of the room is the placement of the plasma display at the back of the room with computer input where a separate breakout meeting can occur. To increase the audio clarity of the attendees for videoconferencing and audioconferencing, twelve microphones, one for each position, were installed unobtrusively in the conference room table. Access to the control system is through two touch-screen panels, one located on the main table and one located in the back breakout area. The control system is programmed to control all the audio-video technology, switching of sources among screens, and adjusting room lighting. One of the more impressive, yet not obvious, features of the showcase room is a specially designed acoustical membrane ceiling. The ceiling allows the 12 voice-reinforcement ceiling speakers to be completely hidden to dramatically improve the appearance of the room. The ceiling also improves the room's acoustics so that the high-quality Surround Sound System greatly enhances the experience when viewing DVD, VHS, and satellite.
